C4C: The 275 Challenge Participants
C4C: The 275 Challenge Fundraising Sample Copy
Right now, there are more than 1.2 million Americans living with HIV, and an estimated 36,000 more were diagnosed with HIV in 2019 alone. Here’s the truth: in order to end AIDS, it will take a commitment from people like us to do something meaningful and visible to raise the money and support needed to finally end this epidemic.
So, I’ve decided to join The 275 Challenge in September 2022. The 275 Challenge is a virtual fundraising event for The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center’s HIV and AIDS support services.
The 275 Challenge was created during the height of the pandemic, when participants of Cycle for the Cause, The Center’s 275-mile charity bike ride from Boston to New York, could not complete the ride in person. While the ride has returned in-person, some of us are continuing to fundraise virtually and continue to support the ride from afar, however we can!
For the next several months, I will be [insert 275 Challenge activity] to show my support for The Center and raise crucial funds to help our community members living with HIV and AIDS. However, I cannot reach my fundraising goals without your help.
For every $100 I raise, we can help three young people with HIV testing and safe sex counseling sessions; for $250 I raise, we can help one person with assistance in enrolling in health insurance and accessing healthcare options for affordable HIV medications; and for every $600 I raise, we can provide one person living with HIV with individual, family and group counseling for three months.
All donations are tax-deductible and you can even spread out a larger donation over time, so please be generous. Every single dollar goes directly to the beneficiary organization, The Center, to fund their critical HIV/AIDS programs.
Thank you for your support – together we can end AIDS.
